How to Prepare for a Consultation

A short checklist that helps you get a clear plan faster, especially when deadlines are involved.

In short
Bring the notice, receipts, IDs, and a short timeline. You don’t need perfection to get started.

You do not need a perfect folder of documents to reach out, but having the right basics helps us give you a clearer answer faster.

Bring these basics if you can

  • Any USCIS/EOIR notices (including envelopes if deadlines are involved)
  • Receipt numbers and copies of prior filings
  • Passport biographic page, visas, and I-94 (if applicable)
  • Key relationship documents (if your case involves family-based filings)

A short timeline helps a lot

Write a few lines covering:

  • Important dates (entries, filings, notices, interviews)
  • Where you lived and worked (if relevant)
  • Any urgent concerns or upcoming deadlines

If you’re not sure what applies to you, bring what you have and we’ll help you prioritize the rest.

What to do next
If you have a deadline, bring the notice date and any receipt numbers. If you’re unsure where to start, the FAQs can help you triage.
